welcome to Blessings by Design Art Studio
I'm the owner, founder, and lead teacher of Blessings by Design Art Studio , a creative space where children and families come to explore art, build confidence, and have fun making something they're proud of.
My background is in working with children. I have worked in special education for over 20 years ,and taught art classes for the past 15 years and in the last few years I worked as an Outside School Hours Care Coordinator, leading programs for children from preschool to Year 6. I loved every part of it — building relationships with families, designing engaging activities, and creating an environment where every child felt safe, valued, and excited to be there.
That experience shaped everything I bring to the studio today.
Blessings by Design
I'm not interested in being the biggest art studio — I'm focused on being the best for the families who walk through our door.
That means small class sizes, thoughtful lesson planning, quality materials, and genuine connection.
When you join a class with me, I'll know your child's name, their favourite colour, what they love to draw, and what makes them light up. I'll celebrate their wins and gently encourage them through the tricky bits. Art isn't just about the finished piece — it's about confidence, focus, problem-solving, and joy.
I'd love to welcome your family into our creative community.

Distinguished and Famous people from Greater Adelaide
Greater Adelaide appears in these lives as a childhood home, a place of education and a base for work. Some connections lasted for decades; others were early beginnings before careers developed elsewhere.
🏅 Sir Donald Bradman
Don Bradman's Adelaide years began as an adult, after a childhood in New South Wales. He combined cricket with stockbroking, captained South Australia and later held senior positions in cricket administration. His Test batting average of 99.94 remains the famous number, but local life included other pursuits: he won the South Australian squash championship in 1938 and enjoyed golf and the piano. Adelaide was a long-term home, not a brief stop on a sporting tour.
🤝 Penny Wong
Penny Wong was born in Malaysia and settled in Adelaide with her family when she was eight. She studied arts and law at the University of Adelaide, then worked in union and legal roles before entering federal Parliament. Elected as a South Australian senator in 2001, she went on to hold ministerial portfolios including climate change and water, finance, and foreign affairs. Her connection with the city begins well before those national responsibilities, in her upbringing and university years.
🤝 Julia Gillard
Julia Gillard moved from Wales to Adelaide as a child, attending Mitcham Primary and Unley High School before studying at the University of Adelaide. She later moved to Melbourne, where she completed her degrees and built her legal and political career. From 2010 to 2013 she served as Australia's first female prime minister. Adelaide belongs to the education and childhood part of her story; her federal parliamentary career was based in Victoria.
🏅 Adam Scott
Golfer Adam Scott was born in Adelaide in 1980 and began learning the game here with his father at about four. His childhood practice started with plastic clubs and larger balls before progressing to a golf ball. He turned professional in 2000 and won the Masters Tournament in 2013. His career developed internationally, but the introduction to the sport was local: a small child, his father and a par-three course.
🎵 Guy Sebastian
Malaysian-born Guy Sebastian grew up in Adelaide and became nationally known as the winner of the first Australian Idol in 2003. His recordings include Angels Brought Me Here, Battle Scars with Lupe Fiasco, and Choir. He also represented Australia at Eurovision in 2015. The singer's Adelaide upbringing preceded a career in recording, television and live performance, with songs reaching audiences well beyond the city where he began.
